Program Description
Students in the field of Diagnostic Medical
Sonography are trained to use the most advanced and highly-sophisticated imaging
equipment and to engage in other important functions related to patient care.
The Ultrasound Technology course utilizes a combination of didactic and clinical
education to ensure that students will be able to properly carry out their
duties and responsibilities as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Within the duration of one and a half years, the
medical diagnostic sonography course will be able to cover classroom lessons,
laboratory exposure and hands-on participation in related activities. It also
tackles General Sonography with emphasis on abdominal, gynecological and
obstetrical ultrasound, as well as introductory vascular ultrasound. Students
who are able to complete this course are expected to be proficient and
knowledgeable enough to able to get past the RDMS national registry exam.
